Results of the Biltmore Classic 15k – May 19, 2013 – Biltmore Estate – Asheville, NC
|I’m sorry I missed the race this year and thankful that my friend and correspondent Victor Dostrow has provided a first hand report.
FROM VICTOR DOSTROW
It was unreasonably early, and it was drizzly (and I am not a big fan of running in the rain). But, it was Biltmore: Say no more. For this road racer, it was an opportunity to enjoy the flora and foliage of a trail race on proper pavement, and also a chance to run the roads at Biltmore. This is a great race on a lovely course. I will defer comment on the 1.5 miles of uphill on Approach Road, which seemed rather longer this morning. Thanks to the organizers, who ran a very well oiled event. This was my first year to run Biltmore, but it will not be my last. This race sells out, so the reader is advised to register early. Congratulations to Rich Velazquez (who came from NYC to run, and win, in our fair burg) as first male, and Suzanne Hutchins as first female.
