You will be AMAZED and BLOWN AWAY by what is happening in Gorges State Park. This family friendly event is an opportunity for community to check things out and celebrate all the progress being made! The run and walk will start and finish at the very beautiful NEW Visitor Center in Gorges State Park. The course is a challenging/rolling 5K on new roads. Food Matters Market, Foot RX Asheville, and Friends of Gorges are proud sponsors of this event benefiting Gorges State Park.

The 5K run and FREE Family Walk will be the kick-off event for Gorges Appreciation Days – a full on family-friendly celebration. There will be kid activities, hiking opportunities, vendors, food, and so much more! Plan to run or walk and then spend a great day with your family and friends. The State Park wants you to visit and we are committed to keeping the 5K a very low price for you runners! A gift to you! Plunging waterfalls, rugged river gorges, sheer rock walls and one of the greatest concentrations of rare and unique species in the eastern United States are found within Gorges State Park. An elevation that rises 2,000 feet in only four miles, combined with rainfall in excess of 80 inches per year, creates a temperate rain forest and supports a collection of waterfalls.
