Well it’s getting to about that time again runners. Trundle on over to Biltmore Park on May 11th for the third annual Ramble Run at Biltmore Park. I’m especially looking forward to the race this year because last year I was in the midst of battling a painful and frustrating hamstring problem. Just about every step of the 12k hurt. I turned the corner on that problem later in the year (knock on wood) and I’m looking forward to enjoying this one again.
Biltmore Park is a great venue for racing. The town square makes a wonderful setting for pre and post-race activities and this race always has a vibrant buzz about it with about a thousand or more runners and spectators milling about.
Neither of these races is a ‘walk in the park’ though. While the courses are scenic, they’re also challenging (come on, this is Asheville, certainly I needn’t tell you about the hills).
ASHEVILLE TRACK CLUB TRIPLE CROWN SERIES
You might want to think about what’s called the ‘triple crown.’ If you’re thinking about running the Ramble Run (12k or 5k) and the Bele Chere 5k and Thomas Wolfe 8k, the triple crown is one registration for all three that gets you a substantial discount. You can check that out at IMAthlete and you don’t need to be an Asheville Track Club members to get the deal.
