Results of the Winter Splash 8 Mile Trail Race – February 2, 2013 – Springmaid Mountain – Spruce Pine, NC
Tough conditions for these trail races. Congratulations to all who finished. Here’s the report from the race organizer:
Flooding washed out part of the trail and shortened both races by about 2/10 of a mile. Tough Course: frozen, snow covered. 32 degrees with flurries, a bon fire, hot soup, hot chocolate, and hot coffee. Will Harlan blistered the long course and the river crossing for first place overall. Elli Saraceno was the first female.
