Morris Broadband Half Marathon – April 20, 2013 – DuPont Forest – Brevard, NC
|This race is part of the Asheville Track Club Grand Prix series for 2013. I’ve done this two of the three times it’s been held (2010 and 2012). It’s an interesting course that includes about a mile of running on an old abandoned black top runway nestled way back in DuPont Forest. Much of the race has featured forest service roads and some double-track trails in the past. I wouldn’t describe the race as technical, but it has its share of hills. The race director has said there will be some new trail sections in 2013 but I don’t have any details on that yet. What I do know: race starts at 8:30 and each runner will get a Brooks tech shirt and a pair of Diamond brand socks.

Go approximately 2 miles to parking lot on right hand side.

Greg and his group always put together a very nice event. I know they are trying to introduce more single and double track to the course and less forest roads. Whatever they come up with we are certain it will be great. DuPont is beautiful no matter where your feet land.
