Hair of the Dog 5k – January 1, 2013 – Asheville YMCA – Asheville, NC – CANCELLED

A 5k at 9 AM on New Year’s Day. The race starts and finishes at the YMCA’s Youth Services facility on Beaverdam Road in North Asheville. Participants park at the YMCA downtown on Woodfin Street then get shuttled to North Asheville and back afterward for the awards ceremony and breakfast at the Renaissance Hotel. About the Event
Help support the Y’s programming for at-risk children. Proceeds benefit the Y’s anti-obesity Youth Fit For Life and enrichment programs. Race from the Beaverdam YMCA to Asheville YMCA. Course is a mix of uphill and downhill streets in beautiful North Asheville. It’s a great race for the serious runner and a beautiful course for those of us participating in a leasurely stroll while supporting a great cause. Included in race registration is a t-shirt, awards ceremony, and breakfast and champagne from Renaissance. Y staff will be available to talk about our healthy & wellness initiatives AND to talk about the value of memberships at the Y.

Brief Description
YMCA Hair of the Dog 5K resolution run will benefit anti-obesity programs in our childcare centers. Cost of registration includes race fee & celebration breakfast w/ champagne worth $29.00. Race participants park on Woodfin Street & will be bussed to the starting line at our Youth Services facility on Beaverdam Road. Shuttles will run until 8:40. On-site registration stays open until the last shuttle prepares to leave.

Awards ceremony & celebration breakfast will take place at platinum sponsor Renaissance after the race. Untimed kid’s fun run at 9:30 will cost $5.00 day-of.
