Christmas Tree 5k – December 1, 2012 – West Jefferson, NC
|This looks like more than just a race but a nice pre-holiday adventure. There’s a 5K and 1 mile run along with a pancake breakfast (I’d suggest that after the race). If you’d like you can also choose and cut your own Christmas Tree at the Christmas Tree Farm. Sounds like fun. The race starts at 10 AM so you if you’re traveling to West Jefferson you’ll have plenty of time. Here’s more information from the race organizers:
Welcome to the Christmas Tree 5k an annual event created to help raise awareness for the visually impaired and in support of the West Jefferson Lion’s Club efforts in Ashe County, NC. The quiet calm of the cool fall mornings will be set aside for the nervous excitement of those running the 5k, the joy and laughter of those participating in the 1Mile Fun Run / Walk for a few minutes the morning of the race.
Win a Tree or a Wreath if you’re able to run or walk the fastest.
