Results of the Jump Off Rock 10k – September 29, 2012 – Hendersonville, NC

It was a small turnout for the second annual Jump Off Rock 10k in Hendersonville this morning. I decided to run this because the course looked nice and I make it a point to participate in some races that I haven’t done before. There were 35 people at the starting line. It’s an out and back course and the first half is principally uphill (a little over 500 foot elevation gain) to Jump Off Rock. The view from the top is awesome. I had never been to Jump Off Rock before and while I was only there for about 10 seconds the view is tremendous and I’m going to go back for a closer look (and actually stand still for a while). My time was 28:16 out and 24:49 back for a total of 53:14. A great course and a very well orchestrated race. Kudos to the organizers and the volunteers.
