Smoky Streak 10k + 5k – October 6, 2012 – Sylva, NC

This race has developed a loyal following over more than a dozen years. Both the 10k and 5k are known for their “flattish” nature. Here’s some information from the race organizers:

MedWest-Harris & MedWest-Swain present the 14th Annual Smoky Streak 5K/10K. This area favorite takes place along the beautiful Tuckaseegee River in Sylva, North Carolina.

For a second yeart both the 5K and 10K will start and finish at Webster Baptist Church. No more shuttle buses!

The proceeds will provide mammograms for underserved women in the MedWest Health System.

Both races are out-and-back courses starting and finishing at Webster Baptist Church. A short, sharp ascent/descent will begin and end the races. In between is a gentle, rolling course along the Tuckaseegee River and some of the finest trout waters in the U.S.

Registration is $25 for either race up until September 30, 2012, then the cost goes up to $30. Online registration is available at imAthlete.
