Sunrise Run on the Greenway 10k + 5k – September 8, 2012 – Morganton, NC

Nice certified 5k and 10k races run entirely on Greenway. From the race organizers:

Hosted by The Table Rock Runners, the annual Sunrise Run on the Greenway takes place on the morning of September 8th, the weekend of the Historic Morganton Festival. Almost 200 competitors came out for the 5K and 10K races. 154 kids took part in last year’s one-mile fun run.

After the race, be sure to stop in Downtown Morganton and attend the Historic Morganton Festival where over 60,000 people experience a variety of arts, crafts, foods, and entertainment. Bring the whole family!

The 2012 Sunrise Run course will be the same as last year–run entirely on the Greenway–and both the 5K and 10K are certified. Both races begin in the Catawba Meadows parking area and end in the on the access trail between the picnic shelters and the greenway. After the start, once the runners reach the greenway, the 10K runners will head left on the Greenway and the 5K runners will head right.
