Rise N’ Shine 5k – May 26, 2012 – Carrier Park – Mountain Sports Festival – Asheville, NC

A new 5k associated with the Mountain Sports Festival and Girls on the Run. The race is at Carrier Park – you can’t get much flatter than that.

In it’s inaugural year at the Mountain Sports Festival, this family-friendly 5K encourages movement (RISE) and it encourages effort (SHINE) bright and early on a Saturday morning and benefits Girls on the Run of WNC! The easy 5K course runs through Carrier Park along the French Broad River. We will have a yoga instructor leading stretches before/after the 5K event. Shiny attire highly recommended!

Families are encouraged to participate and register as a team for the special award categories: “RISE” teams (1 parent/1 child) or “SHINE” teams (2 parent/2 child). We will offer a special discount to all past or present Girls on the Run program participants for $15.
