|This is cool – a Friday evening 5k in April at AC Reynolds High School for just $15. From the race organizers:
The Blue Ridge Classic, held Saturday April 21st at Reynolds High School, is the second largest high school track meet in North Carolina, with over 1500 athletes participating. To celebrate the annual running of this renowned meet, a spectacular 5K race has been added on Friday evening, open to the general public. The course is fun, scenic and challenging with numerous climbs. Start and finish on the rubberized track in Dalton Stadium, Olympics-style, with the crowd cheering you on, and in between, run on grass fields, wooded trails and sections of roadway.
This is destined to become a hugely popular, blockbuster 5K so don’t miss the opportunity to be part of history and run in the first one! Proceeds benefit Asheville area high school, middle school and Junior Olympics track & field and cross country programs! Participation is not open to athletes competing in Saturday’s 10th Annual Blue Ridge Classic Track Meet.
