Meadowbrook Cubs on the Run 5k – March 24, 2012 – Canton, NC

This is the third annual running of this popular race that benefits an important cause. From the race organizers:

March 24th is fast approaching, so don’t forget to sign up for our Cubs on the Run 5k Race and Fun Run! Our 5k race was designed to help bring light to the growing problem of childhood obesity. Children and adults have learned to love running since we launched our running club three years ago. Please come out and show your support of running and healthy living for this event by participating or cheering on the runners!

Our Cubs on the Run 5k race is open to runners and walkers of all ages. The course is moderately hilly track on Kim’s Cove Rd and Highway 110 in Canton, NC. There are water stations along the course. Trophies will be awarded for top male and female overall finishers as well as age group medals for male and female top three finishers. The first 150 entries are guaranteed a race t-shirt!

Our Cub Fun Run/Walk is designed for those who aren’t quite ready to tackle a 5k. The less than a mile course is on Meadowbrook Drive and Meadowbrook Elementary property.

A health and wellness expo will be located in the gym from 7:30 until 11:00. This is a free event to help increase awareness of all forms of health care and healthy living opportunities that are available in our area.

Pre-Race packets can be picked up on Friday, March 23rd 3:00-5:00. Race day packet pick up and same day registration begins Saturday, March 24th at 7:30. The Cub Fun Run will begin at 9:00. The 5k will begin at 9:30 and the awards ceremony will start immediately following the 5k.
