Red Cross Down Town Mountain Mile – November 19, 2011 – Asheville, NC
|This is a very fun event. I ran this last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. The course follows the holiday parade route just before the parade starts. Hundreds of spectators line the course and cheer on the runners. Once you reach the halfway point at Pack Square the course is all flat to down hill – so open it up and go for it!
From the organizers:
Put your best foot forward and kicking off the holiday season with a big finish, runners and walkers of all levels and ages participated in the 3rd Annual Red Cross Downtown Mountain Mile which will take place on November 19 in beautiful downtown Asheville. The race will immediately precede the downtown Holiday Parade. For a little more fun, you can dress up in your favorite Holiday garb or dress in the parade theme of “Days Gone By”.
