Tsali Frosty Foot 50k 30k 8k Trail Race – January 7, 2012 – Tsali Recreation Area, Almond, NC
|We’re in the midst of a busy racing month here in Western North Carolina. Every weekend in October there are races to choose from and before you know it we’ll doing Turkey Trots and Jingle Bell Runs and Reindeer Runs. Meanwhile we’ll be putting on our “winter weight” while enjoying holiday festivities with friends and family. On January 2nd, we’ll all be chomping at the bit to get back at it – with gusto. We need a good challenging race to fling us into the 2012 racing season.
Well you don’t need to wait long, because the Tsali Frosty Foot extravaganza (that’s my word to describe it because it’s 3 races in one event) takes place on Saturday January 7, 2012.
The event features three different trail races – a 50k, 30k and 8k. Something for every one.
Some insight into the terrain, from the race organizer:
These trails are well groomed mountain bike trails. The course can be described as “rolling hills” with scenic views of Lake Fontana. Most of the course will take place on single track trails. 99.9% of the race is off road! Be prepared for anything, and I mean anything!
‘Nuff said about that.
There’s a hotel and cabins for rent at nearby Fontana Village so runners can make the trip Friday evening if they wish and sleep in before the races begin (the 50k starts at 9 AM, the 30k starts at 10 AM and the 8k starts at 11 AM).
For all the details, visit the Frosty Foot website and the registration page at Active.com.
This race looks interesting – I’ll have to look into it. Thanks for the post!
