New Kid in Town – Black Mountain Running Company

There’s a new running store in the area, scheduled to open on October 15, 2011.  It’s the Black Mountain Running Company (and, of course, it’s in Black Mountain).

I was just on the phone with Peter Ripmaster, owner of the new store and he’s a man on a mission.  Peter is a runner with a goal to complete 50 marathons in 50 states and raise $50,000 for breast cancer and prostate cancer research.  When I spoke with Peter he was on his way to marathon number 29.  While I and many others will be running the Asheville Citizen-Times Half Marathon tomorrow, Peter will be running the Air Force Marathon in Dayton, Ohio.

Keelin Schneider, one of the top runners in the region will be joining Peter as manager of the Black Mountain Running Company.  Here are some facts about the store:
