Hey! I was wondering what type of terrain this race entails??? anyone that could inform..trails? pavement?
Just wanna get prepared for it! I’m already signed up : )
THANKS!
Mostly pavement. About two miles or so on a gravel road (Patton Mountain Road) but other than that it’s all streets.
Race will be 9th annual. Course runs on Old Toll, Patton Mountain, and Sunset Parkway. Final decisions on course will not be made until I find out if construction on Old Toll will be done in time for the event.
Randy, is Mission Hospital supporting the 2011 Sunset Stampede? Your advertisements indicate that you do but Mission is not aware. This is important for participating Mission employees since we possibly receive “Wellness points”. How can I get in touch with you to futher discuss? Andrea
Any word yet on this race? I don’t remember it from before. Where’s the course?
An embarrassment of riches. Which one/s is/are everyone else doing?
You should be fine for Sourwood on Saturday as long as you don’t drink too much beer in Waynesville on Friday night. Coming back and running the Stampede on Saturday night might be a little much. I’d say, choose one of the two Saturday races. If you want to drink the free beer on Friday night, choose the stampede. I do like the Stampede being a sunset race. Don’t miss Mainstreet.
Oh my gosh! The Waynesville Main Street Mile, The Sourwood, and the Stampede all on the same weekend!! My head just might explode.
