It was smokin’ hot when over a thousand of us lined up for the Chamber Challenge 5k at 4:30 yesterday. There was little break from the sunshine and the long uphill pull at the end of mile one was a jolt that made the second mile on Pearson feel like a piece of cake. There’s something about that last mile that’s cruel – no matter how many times I run this course the gradual uphill stretch on Montford Avenue with roasting temperatures really takes the wind out of my sails.
I was part of the Motley Crew male team and we were 8th place out of 49 male teams. I was true to my word, staying a couple of minutes behind my teammates “watching out for competitive threats.” Congratulations to all who finished this race. Here are links to the results:
