A Perfect Day to Ramble

The weather was perfectly cool for the Ramble Run this morning. I was in the 12k and between the 12k and 5k there were an estimated 1,400 or so runners at the start. The course was challenging but beautiful. Quiet paved roads, lovely parks and a mile or so on a nice, wide paved walking path. It was an impressive inaugural event and had a great lively expo afterward that kept hundreds of people around having fun and winning raffle prizes. I expect this to be the Mother’s Day weekend classic race for years to come.

My goal was 1:05 and when I reached the top of the final hill I realized it was possible but I’d have to pull out all the stops for the remaining few hundred yards. I managed to cross the finish line in 1:04:56. Great fun!
