Ramble Run at Biltmore Park – May 7, 2011 – Asheville, NC

Ready to Ramble?

This looks like it will be a great race, destined to be an Asheville-area classic. There are already almost 400 runners registered (and the race is still almost three-months away) so I suggest you register soon (plus the price goes up March 1!).

The event features a 5k and 12k. The course is mostly paved and it’s by no means an easy course. But it’s also a beautiful course through a tranquil residential neighborhood with virtually no traffic. It’s been described as like running on the Parkway without the cars. You can’t necessarily practice the full course because much of it is run within the property of The Ramble Biltmore Forest which is a gated community. The course starts and finishes at Biltmore Park and you can run a portion of it to the back gate of The Ramble and get a sense of the hills you’ll encounter during the first (and last mile).

Come on out for this great race on Mother’s Day weekend that benefits the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina – Women’s Fund.
