Frostbite 5k and 10k Race – February 20, 2011 – Fletcher, NC
|
An exciting new twist on this race for 2011 – there’s a 10k in addition to the 5k. This is the 19th running of the Frostbite Race and occurs on Sunday afternoon, February 20, 2011 at 2:30 PM.
Some information from the race director, Duncan Sharrits:
The 10K will be part of the Asheville Track Club Grand Prix and the 5K will be part of the Four Seasons Running Club’s Grand Prix. 5K course will be the same as years past and the 10K course will incorporate the 5K for the second half of the race. The first half of the 10K will be a little more challenging than the second half and will include a moderate 3/4 mile hill between 2.75 and 3.5 miles. The race director will be leading a preview run of the 10K course on 1/2/11 @ 2:30 pm. We will meet at Park Ridge Health in the cafeteria and run the course then come back to the hospital and have some hot chocolate.
You can RSVP to the preview run at Meetup.
Register online for the Frostbite run at Active.com or you can download a Frostbite Registration Form.
Let’s all get out and support this traditional race now under new management.
Cool. I was hoping the 10K would be on the GP schedule… I know the first 3 races of the GP now. Sweet. What is the other race that weekend?
awesome… I did this last year… Love the area… I also prefer 10ks to 5ks..and I really love double race weekends and running Sunday PM Races… This one is on my radar for sure…. Thanks Dennis 😉
