Beat the heat with this “badge of honor” race (don’t tell anyone but I don’t have one of these badges yet). There’s a 10k and 5k to choose from. I love the language used by the race organizers to describe the 10k …

This run is not for the faint-hearted. You will get wet. You will run along flat fields next to the river, and through the river four times. Paths wind through mountain laurel, challenging hill, numerous switchbacks, singletracks, soft sand, alongside ponds, over roots and rocky spots. The entire loop is “run-able,” but is totally acceptable to walk parts of the course. It is a great SUMMER COOL DOWN! Spectators can easily view various sections of the race and are encouraged to be at the first river crossing!

The 5k descriptions is quite a bit more tame …

This trail race along the river is considered moderate and is a sample of the 10K race. You will get wet! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Due to terrain, no strollers are allowed. There are gravel roads and fields where strollers are welcome.

A summer cool down sounds good right about now. Both races start at 8:30 AM. Online registration is available at Setup Events – select either the 10k Link or the 5k Link.

You can also download a Springmaid Splash Entry Form or visit the Race Organizer’s Website for more information.
