The BP 140,600k – The Year 2010 – Gulf of Mexico, Earth
|
It’s the race none of us want to run and wish we weren’t watching. It’s taken on more than marathon-like proportions over the past several months. The race that won’t quit is now a 140,600k race and keeps getting bigger. The latest estimate I just read this morning is that 140,600k gallons (140,600,000) have polluted the gulf. It’s the slick of death for so much wildlife and an event that has taken and will continue to take a monumental toll on an already wounded gulf and earth.
And, oh sh#t! It keeps on coming.
Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

I ran the beach in Biloxi, MS a week ago. Oil not yet there, but looming. The mood was somber, and the tourists, the lifeblood of the entire Gulf Coast, were conspicuous in their absence. An epic tragedy. Thanks for posting this.
