Four Seasons Greenway 5k – Four Seasons Running Club – Fletcher Park – Fletcher, NC – June 18, 2010

There are plenty of slots open for this race so don’t worry about the 200 runner limit, just come on out. Registration is from 5:15 to 6:15 PM and the race will start at 6:30 PM. Awards will be presented for first place finishers in 10-year age groups. Awards are Foot Rx gift certificates.
Fletcher Park is the venue for an increasingly long list of races these days (can you say flat?) and the Four Season Greenway 5k is the latest addition to the list. This race is the inaugural race from the Four Seasons Running Club and will be run on Friday, June 18th at 6:30 PM. The race will showcase the new Greenway that recently opened on the backside of Fletcher Park. It’s an impressive, wide new trail through the woods that crosses under Mills Gap Road running along Cane Creek, ending at the railroad tracks. Even in warm weather this stretch is likely to be cooler because of its shady nature.
The race is just $5 (no shirt for this race, but come on – it’s just 5 bucks) and will be limited to the first 200 runners. Registration will be available at Foot Rx in Asheville and starting Thursday, June 10th registration forms will be available at Sports Cellar, Hibbett Sports, and the Chamber of Commerce in Hendersonville.

My daughter wants to run the 5 K at Fletcher Park tonight. I have been there years ago but cannot remember how to get there. I tried to see if the website had a link for directions but did not find one.
Please e-mail me directions and confirm that you do or don’t have 200 entries.

To get to Fletcher Park take Hendersonville Rd (north from Hendersonville or south from Asheville) to Howard Gap Road which is right in the center of downtown Fletcher. There’s only one direction you can turn on Howard Gap Road (left if you’re coming from Asheville and right if you’re coming from Hendersonville). Travel about a quarter mile on Howard Gap and Fletcher Park is on the left and is quite prominent.
Regarding the 200 runner limit, I’m not sure but I would be very surprised if the race were full. I’m not the race director, I’m just the Carolina Runner blogger. Contact Greg Walker at Fletcher Parks & Recreation at g.walker@fletchernc.org.
Has an entry form been issued which can be downloaded ?
I sent a note to the race director asking about this and he said he would send me an electronic entry form today (Wednesday, June 9 2010). I don’t have it yet.
