March 14, 2010 Black Jack 5k Photo Gallery at Asheville Citizen-Times
Kudos to Aaron Saft and the team at Foot Rx Asheville for putting on these tremendously fun races (and their 2009 Grand Prix series that focused on fun weekday trail races). We had 46 runners turn out on a partly cloudy Sunday afternoon for a sloppy, mushy 5k on grass, mulch trails, ash trails, mud and puddles. Everyone came away with a smile and dried mud up and down the backs of their legs.
These races focus on fun and move the emphasis away from “who is the fastest” to “hey, anyone can win – it’s a game of Black Jack.” And the Black Jack races are just $5, with all proceeds going right back to runners in the form of prizes.
We look forward to more Black Jack races and, hopefully, the 2010 Foot Rx Grand Prix series.

Thanks for including the photo gallery! This race looks like a lot of fun. Also, that course looks like it would be a beautiful place for a race in October, when the colors are peaking.
