Earth School 10th Annual DuPont Forest 12k Trail Race – March 27, 2010
|
PART OF THE ASHEVILLE TRACK CLUB GRAND PRIX SERIES
RESULTS OF THE 2010 DUPONT FOREST 12K
This is a moderate trail race, a lot of fun but not a killer (like the Rock 2 Rock race). It’s 12k (7.4 miles). In 2009 the course was reversed which made the start a fast downhill which was quite nice. The weather can by warm and sunny or snow. It’s a crap shoot in late March. The race starts at 10:00 AM and this is the same location as the start for the Morris Broadband DuPont Forest Half Marathon which occurs just two weeks later on April 10, 2010. A great preview.
Here’s how my mile splits looked in 2009. It’s a fast start – two miles of downhill and flat with wide trails. Then it starts rolling with a long uphill finish. The 2010 course will be the same as 2009. The 2009 course was a reversed version of what the course was in 2007 and 2008.

There is no online registration for this, but here’s the entry form PDF (click on it to view, then print or save it) …
