A quick shoutout to Asheville regular runner (and occasional commenter here on this blog) TJ Thomasson who completed the Nike Marathon in San Francisco last weekend (October 18th). Congrats!
Let me add my congrats to TJ as well!! Having done 12 marathons, I absolutely understand that “I want to stop” feeling, and yet you powered through, finished , and now have your benchmark for future marathons!!
Way to go!
I’m sure it was an incredible feeling. I’ve heard that the last 6 miles feel as tough as the first 20. And I’d say that finishing is the key. Congrats again.
Thanks! It was an incredible feeling to cross the finish line. It was harder than I thought and I wanted to stop around mile 22, but the hard work was well worth it. I had hoped for a better time, but I guess just finishing was the key. My time was 4:52:20.
