Results of the Sunset Stampede 10 Mile Race – May 31, 2008 – Asheville, NC
I remember this one all too well. It was the first year in which the race moved to a morning race. It was warm and humid and the course had been reversed. Instead of going up Old Toll and coming back down Patton Mountain Road and Sunset, we went up Sunset to Patton Mountain and came back down Old Toll. I felt terrible in the second half (and that was downhill). It was about the closest I’ve ever come to quitting a race.
