Run for Aids 5k – Fletcher Community Park – Fletcher, North Carolina – April 1, 2007

This was the inaugural running of this race.  Fletcher Park is a nice flat park and it proved to be a fast course.

The race was organized by Hendersonville High School and there were lots of high school runners there.  The course is gravel, mulch, grass and a finish on asphalt (about the last half mile).  It’s a narrow course and I tried hard to get out fast and avoid the traffic jams.  I was successful — for the most part.

About 125 runners is my guess for the turnout.  The rain held off and it was a fun race.  My time was 21:32.
