Asheville Turkey Trot – November 23, 2006 – Enrollment Now Available

Weather outlook as of November 17, 2006.  Things look good for the upcoming race.  Should be sunny with a low of 39 and high of 57.  I guess about race time it will be in the low to mid 40s.  Not bad for a thanksgiving day.

There are Turkey Trots all over the United States and I think they’re a great way to get runners of all kinds out for a nice 5k before a Thanksgiving feast with friends and family.

The Asheville Turkey Trot is held at the French Broad River Park on the French Broad River in West Asheville.  There is a great turnout; 2005 attracted almost 400 runners and I suspect that this year will lure nearly 500.  It’s a nice flat run through the park; a great opportunity for the casual runner to knock out a 3.1 mile run and an opportunity for good runners to post a great time.

The weather’s a wild card on Thanksgiving in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  It might be 60 degrees and sunny or it might be 30 degrees and snowing.

For more information and to download the entry form, visit  You can complete and mail your entry or you can just drop it off at Jus Running on Merrimon Avenue in North Asheville.
