Asheville Turkey Trot – November 23, 2006 – Enrollment Now Available
|Weather outlook as of November 17, 2006. Things look good for the upcoming race. Should be sunny with a low of 39 and high of 57. I guess about race time it will be in the low to mid 40s. Not bad for a thanksgiving day.
…….
There are Turkey Trots all over the United States and I think they’re a great way to get runners of all kinds out for a nice 5k before a Thanksgiving feast with friends and family.
The Asheville Turkey Trot is held at the French Broad River Park on the French Broad River in West Asheville. There is a great turnout; 2005 attracted almost 400 runners and I suspect that this year will lure nearly 500. It’s a nice flat run through the park; a great opportunity for the casual runner to knock out a 3.1 mile run and an opportunity for good runners to post a great time.
The weather’s a wild card on Thanksgiving in the mountains of Western North Carolina. It might be 60 degrees and sunny or it might be 30 degrees and snowing.
