Running Baltimore Inner Harbor

I’m in Baltimore for a trade show and went for a run this morning.  The weather is cool; fifties and low sixties with rain on and off.  I’m staying at the Tremont Park Hotel about half a mile or so north of the Baltimore Convention Center and about a mile northwest of the Baltimore Inner Harbor.

I set out at about seven this morning and ran north on Charles Street from Pleasant Street, up to the historic George Washington Monument in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore.  Nice architecture along the way and it was a quiet Saturday morning with minimal traffic.  I circled the Monument and headed back south on Charles Street to Pratt Street where I turned left and navigated down to the Inner Harbor.  I went to the right along a great stretch of restaurants and took the brick boardwalk as far as I could until it dead ends at the Rusty Scupper restaurant.  I doubled back and headed back up toward my hotel, stopping just a few blocks shy at Caribou Coffee for a latte and a little post run relaxation.

I saw three or four brave souls out running at the ame time; including one with a cute black lab.

The run was about two and a half to three miles.  Nice run; would have been better without the rain.  Saturday’s are probably best because during the weekdays the traffic would make navigating all of the stop light a jerky affair.
